Our ministry

Caring for body,
mind, and spirit.

Health Ministry reflects the Adventist belief that every person matters to God and deserves compassionate care. Physical well-being, emotional life, relationships, and spiritual experience are connected. Caring for health therefore involves more than addressing an isolated concern. It includes learning, encouragement, and respect for the circumstances and choices of each individual.

Adventist Health Ministries follows Christ’s example of caring for the whole person. The church’s wider health work emphasizes human dignity, fairness, and the well-being of both church members and the communities around them. A ministry shaped by these values seeks to help people feel heard, supported, and able to take an active part in caring for their own lives.

Adventist.org describes healthful living in terms of balance, temperance, and responsible choices. Its guidance emphasizes physical activity, a nourishing diet, water, appropriate use of fresh air and sunlight, and avoiding harmful substances. These principles are offered as an expression of gratitude for the life God has given us. You can explore the official resources below and contact the church to learn which health ministry activities are currently available locally.

01

Everyday choices

Healthful living is shaped by the patterns of daily life. Adventist teaching encourages balance rather than excess and invites people to consider how their habits support well-being. Learning about food, movement, and other lifestyle choices can be a starting point for thoughtful change.

02

Compassionate care

A whole-person approach makes room for emotional, social, and spiritual needs alongside physical concerns. It values each person’s dignity and recognizes the importance of encouragement and connection. Caring for others includes listening respectfully and responding with kindness.

03

Learning together

Official Adventist health resources offer material for further reading and discussion. If you would like to learn with others or contribute to a local activity, ask the church about current opportunities. You can share the topics you are interested in and how you would like to participate.

Faith and whole-person health

For Adventists, caring for health is part of caring for God’s creation. The aim is a life in which physical, intellectual, social, and spiritual well-being can grow together. This understanding connects personal responsibility with concern for others: the care we seek for ourselves should also shape how we treat our families, neighbors, and community.

You do not need to have every habit figured out before starting a conversation. Whether you are exploring the Adventist approach to health or looking for ways to support the department, we invite you to connect with the church and ask about the resources and activities available.
